NIRBA is a national effort supported by the National Research Foundation (NRF). It draws upon the strengths of a diverse group of institutions, each contributing unique expertise, talent, and technology to our shared mission. Together, these institutions power the core of NIRBA’s research, spanning the four Innovation Clusters. NIRBA’s work is deeply integrated with national biomedical and translational platforms, enabling real-world impact through aligned programmes.
Each of NIRBA’s four Innovation Clusters functions as a collaborative research ecosystem:
Collaborates with genomic cohorts like SG100K to investigate population-specific RNA variation.
Engages immunologists and structural biologists to decode the RNA modification code and immune responses.
Works with engineers, chemists, and industry players to optimise targeted delivery technologies.
Partners with pharmacologists, clinicians, and biotech firms to tailor RNA-based therapies.
Recognising the global relevance of RNA biology, NIRBA also seeks to foster a growing network of international collaborations with leading scientists, research institutions, and innovation hubs. These efforts will enable joint publications, talent exchange, co-development of novel RNA technologies, and access to broader genomic and clinical datasets. Through this international outreach, NIRBA strengthens Singapore’s role as a global hub for RNA innovation.
